Happy Halloween fellas!👻
Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on 31st October. It originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. There is a ritual of dressing up as ghosts, tv/film characters or anything with a scary touch and have parties with a lot of games. Along with that, trick or treat, playing pranks, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gathering and eating treats are some special features of Halloween.
The history of Halloween dates back to the ancient festival of Samhain. 2000 years ago, mostly in the area of Ireland, the UK and some areas of France to mark the new year's eve. This day is considered as the end of summer and harvest season and onset of dark and long summer. At that time, this time of the year was associated with the death of humans. Celts believed that on the eve of the new year, the boundaries of the worlds of the living and the dead become blurred and the deads and the ghosts returned to earth. Celtic priests made predictions on this day for their people and upcoming winters. Lighting huge sacred bonfires and sacrificing crops and animals was a part of celt culture. And on the next day which is the New Year, the bonfire was lit again from the ashes as a good omen to help protect them from the upcoming winter.
